The Other Side Of Me

This Blog is a documentation, a day-to-day account of my coming out process. This is here so people can read, and see where i've made mistakes and where i've made progress, so that during their coming out they can attempt to avoid or emulate those things. It is also here, to show the struggle me and many others have faced, when coming to terms with our sexuality.

Me and School..

As I said in a comment to Koge in one of my post, I went to small schools. The first school I went to was called Gypsy Elementary School* It was VERY VERY VERY… VERY Small. Only about 100 people attended the whole school. It was so small it didn’t even have a High School, It only when from K to 8th. So that averaged about 11 people per-grade; but we, the class of 2000, had 16 people most of the time (I think the most we ever had was 20 at one time). So I got really close with my classmates, I even know some of them more then I know some of my relatives that live just down the road. So we were all like brothers. Well after 8th grade we had to transfer to another school, we had two choices; well some of us had two choices, either Bristow High or Depew High. I was one of those that lived close enough to a Bristow’s bus route to choose (almost had the choice made for me, If I lived on the other side of the road I would have to go to Bristow High), but I chose to go to Depew because that was were most of them were transferring. Depew was a bigger school [then gypsy, bristow was bigger then both put together], but not by much. It averaged about 100 or so people for 9 – 12 grades.

In 11th grade I had an option to attend Central Vo-Tech (drumright), which I took and was admitted to their computer programming class. Central Vo-Tech was where I learned the most about visual basic programming (college didn’t even stack up against it). Central Tech was one of my favorite places ever, the teacher was cool, and we had access to a T1 line (my first taste of broadband was at Central Tech), which we used and used and used. The class was so good that the teacher had to pay us to leave (I’m not shitting you). He liked to take naps on our break, but we didn’t want to leave the precious T1 so he gave us money to get something out of the vending machines; when we left he locked the door until his nap was over. His wife, one day made him buy pizza for us too, so were taking his money all the time. I attended Tech for two years and still haven’t had a computer teacher that can compare.

After High School I attended OSU-Okmulgee. There I was board out of my mind, but it wasn’t too bad I guess. I used the stuff I learned in Tech to CLEP (I think that’s what its called) out of 3 classes; Visual Basic, HTML, and I can’t remember the other class. So I have Advance Standing in those classes, which sounds really good to say out loud. Most of OSU-Okmulgee was a breeze, but there was a couple classes that tried to kick my ass; JAVA, Adv JAVA, COBOL, and US History. I Have good grades in Java and Adv Java but they where difficult classes, I think I have a B in Java and a B+ in Adv Java. COBOL was shit, I hate COBOL, and it made Java look like a walk in the park. I don’t even remember how to do anything in COBOL, I forgot on purpose, but I made an A in it. And US History since 1865, I don’t really remember much about it, but I know I make a C in it.

After receiving my Associate in Computer Science from OSU-Okmulgee, I tried to transfer directly to OSU-Tulsa, but there was a problem. I needed 9 hours of Calculus. So I had to attend TCC (Metro and Southeast Campuses), I’m glad I did (that’s were I meet my Composition II Teacher). I just failed Calculus III so I’m going to have to go back in the summer, but I can now take some classes at OSU-Tulsa. TCC was different then other schools I attended, It was a lot less personal, the only teacher I though connected with students was the Composition II Teacher. At OSU-Okmulgee everyone knew your name and you knew theirs, it seemed like a friendlier palace.

Now I’m going to start attending OSU-Tulsa, I think sometime in September. I hope the computer AI class doesn’t kick my ass.

Oh.. And I seen a commercial for OSU-Okmulgee and my Advance Java Teacher was on it. Ted Rocks, we (me and the people I car pool with) would sneak into his cubicle and leave him messages in notepad for him; Like “Hello Ted, we’re watching you.” And other shit. And Ted if you are reading this, remember that i want your Insane Clown Posse Tickets next time, i know that you said that you didn't like getting sprayed with Fago or Insane Clown Posse (i wish i had a security guard brother/cousin/or however he was kin to you). :)

*= i created the web site, but i don't think they update it anymore, i even made them a program that they could run that would update it when you just enter basic data. Also that is an old web site, i've learned a lot since then.

Yea.. I'm about to integrate my foot right into my Calc Teacher's Ass. I almost passed it, if only every problem on the final was worth the same amount of points; but he made the last 3 (the ones I missed) worth one extra point and the first 3 (the ones I got right) worth one less point and the middle ones (the ones I mostly got right) worth regular points. :( But at least I got some right so I guess my Calc III teacher isn't that bad; my Calc I teacher however sucked, if I had him as a Calc III teacher I wouldn’t of had a chance in hell.

Damn. I loved Calculus. AP Calc was about the only class in HS I could sleep through regularly, and still manage a solid "A". :-\

I could follow (well in Calculus II and III, Calculus I teacher sucked) in class, but they were short classes, being summer, and we went through a lot of stuff in a short amount of time, and I couldn’t remember it all. Plus I had other classes that had a lot of homework, and since we didn’t have to do homework in Calculus, I always did the other classes work first and they took up most of my time.
