I love statcounter

I added a little counter not to long ago (if you haven’t seen it, it’s at the bottom of this page) and it’s been very entertaining. I especially love the ‘Came From’ and ‘Keyword Analysis’ items.

The ‘Came From’ page shows just that, where people came from. I found that most of my visitors come from ‘Deliciously Sick’, ‘I’m Out And About’, and the Gaymers website. I also noticed that on my birthday I had many people coming from blogarama and other blog directories that I have links to just above the counter.

The other thing I like is the ‘Keyword Analysis’ page. This page shows what people searched for to find my page. This one had recently became very interesting. I have been finding that there is a soul mate of mine out there in cyberspace; a kindred spirit. Someone has been searching for ‘Dave Attell Nude’. Well if you’ve came back to my site fellow insomniac… Lay your hands on him I’ll kill you! But if you find those nude pics, my email is in the sidebar. :-p

Another thing, this time it’s as disturbing as it is puzzling, is that someone searched for ‘Sister’s First Handjobs’. Mmmm, I never blogged anything with the word ‘Handjobs’, and If I’m not mistaken Google (the search engine he/she used) uses AND’s as the default Boolean operation. So since I never muttered the word ‘Handjobs’ on my blog I should of never been a hit. But I guess next time I get a ‘Handjobs’ hit it will be because of this post.

But the most interesting search is my name; ‘Brian Allen Smith’ in quotes, so they were searching for that specific name. I can only hope that It’s someone I know. So if you’re still reading drop a line and tell me if I’m who you were looking for. But all in all I certain that I’m not the one he/she was looking for, since I just checked and their IP hasn’t been back and they’re from Ohio; plus all 3 of my names are common.

There have also been funny searches that have resulted in hits to my page. Like people searching for the netzero commercial, I have received at least 3 hits from people searching for ‘Karate Explosion’ and a line I took from an episode of Conan O’Brien, I’m not going to paste the whole search, it’s pretty long; but it was the line about carrots being number 1 for deep rectal itches. There was another search that hit another commercial, but since my stat counter only keeps 100 user stats at a time, I can’t find out which it was.

There are many other things that I look at, like where everyone is coming from (like right now I have 24 from Oregon, 23 from Oklahoma, and 9 from Kansas, there are many more but they are like 3 or 2 and an occasional 7 or 8 visitors from other places)…

Stat counting is cool… I’m such a nerd.
