Yes, guy from disturbed, i am "down with the sickness".
Eh, i've not been so well the last 24+ hours. But i'm feeling better; today was ok.
I had that 4-hour break that i'll be having all semester today, so i found a little isolated corner next to the library, and read a little. I also looked up where my Sci-fi teacher's office is; which was just above where i was reading (she wasn’t in, though her office hours said she would be!). I'm thinking of asking her if she had any recommendations for books on homosexuality and the media... since she wrote about it and all... Because that is what i'm going to be doing probably from now on, during that break - reading. I went through a big chunk of a book today; it was about Bigotry and Homophobia. First half of the book told where it comes from, the second half tells how to deal with it. I got to the second half today, and gone through a couple chapters in it. Interesting enough, it says not to be a huge bitch to these people! Instead, it says turn the table on these assholes. Instead of defending yourself only, defend your sexuality by dispelling myths and then add a comment about them being asshats (read: make it about them).
Like:
By your distorted comments on homosexuality you are striking at the core of my identity as a human being. I think that gives me permission to question your motivation. Why are you so bent on vilifying homosexuals? What does that do for you?Anyways it's interesting... 'Setting Them Straight: You Can Do Something About Bigotry and Homophobia In Your Life' is the book.
BTW... i hate the name of this book; now i'm worried that people might think i'm a big 'ol homophobe. Because the "Setting Them Straight" is in huge fucking lettering; while the rest is tiny. So people walking by might think that i'm some sort of 'Ex-gay' nut or some shit. Next book should have the title "Big Fucking Homo" with an 3D arrow positioned so it looks like it's pointing through the book at me; and maybe a place where i can slip my picture in, on the cover too.
