Cops, Books, and a Lost Gay Guy.
Went to Tulsa yesterday, my cousin had a baby boy. It was disturbing, I went into the room, and my cousin, her baby, my aunt and her kids, the father’s mother and sister, him, and me and my two sister’s and my younger sister’s boyfriend was there; what was disturbing was what was on the T.V., it was Cops. LOL, I wish I had a camera; “Baby’s First Drug Bust”, “Baby’s First Domestic Assault”, “Baby’s First Prostitution Sting”....
After visiting for a while, I took my sisters home, and went back to Tulsa determined to find a book on coming out. I went to Barnes & Noble, and acctally found some books, but none were about coming out, they were mostly about the first time. So I went to the second Barnes & Noble, I also found their gay and lesbian section, at first I didn’t see any books that contained multiple stories about coming out, but after a few minutes I seen it. I must of skimmed over it a couple times, but I found one, a book that contained multiple stories about coming out. I grabbed it, and started to leave, but the gay and lesbian section was near the magazines, so I decided to see if I could find “The Advocate”; which I did not, but I did find “Out”, so I picked that up. I purchased the books, which I was nervous; might sound weird, but I was nervous because this was the first time I bought something like this with a male ringing up my order (except that time in Vegas, but he was gay), but I got through it. Then I decided to go to TOHR’s pride shop (Before going to the hospital, I looked, again, for pride shops in Tulsa, and found that there was one run by TOHR).
It was 8:00pm and it closed at 9:00pm so I hurried to find it, but no luck. I ended up in Bixby, and decided that I might have gone the wrong direction on Memorial. But as I headed back into Tulsa I decided to go to Borders again, to look and see if they had “The Advocate”, which they did. I bought it, and again, a male rang me up then I left.
Now I have 2 Magazines and 1 book, and no time; I was planning on reading something, but I have too much homework to do. Maybe if I hurry I’ll have a little time to read, but I doubt that; I’ll probably have to do some homework during class. I just hope that this book gives me, even if a little, courage; I need all that I can get.
Oh! The book I got is “Boys Like Us: Gay Writers Tell Their Coming Out Stories” (ISBN: 0-380-78835-7). If you have read it, give me your score of the book.
*Looks on Yahoo Maps*
Yep… I really went the wrong way, the last intersection I remember was Memorial and 151st street; they are located near intersection Memorial and 21st street. Maybe I need to write down the whole address next time, instead of being in such a hurry and trying to remember it, and writing it down later.
LOL… I just realized that the Barnes & Noble I went to was on 41st, if I had only turned left instead of right on Memorial; I’m horrible when it comes to directions :)

I highly recommend "Becoming a Man: A half-life Story" by Paul Monette. The book is an autobiography about his life up until the time he came out of the closet, accepted his sexuality, and found the man that he would spend the rest of his life with. I was able to personally relate to so much of this book.
Cool, i'll have to see if it's in stock at my local bookstores, i doubt it, but i could always send a request to borders to stock it.
