Excellent Day Ruined By SBC.
I fucking swear.
My dad if a fucking idiot. Ohhhhh He FUCKING PISSES ME OFF!
He decided he is going to switch to MSN to SBC... WITHOUT TELLING ME! I came home, tried to get on the internet and no luck. And SBC's lil thing is sucking major ass. It tires to take over my Yahoo Instant Messenger and Gets disconnected every 5 seconds... you know! when it's not connecting at 12 kbs... I hate it.
But i did buy me a IRiver! Woooot... i got myself a lil iFP-890 256mb IRiver... and i'm enjoying it... I went to the best buy on 71st st... they only had the 1gb iRiver which was out of my price range... i went to compUSA and i asked the guy there, and he said they don't carry them but he wishes they did, "they are nice" he said. So i found myself gettin' more and more hopeless then bam! it was at the best buy on 41st street! So i picked me up one of those and found out that my headphones i just got’s mic works... just not on my computer.
The reason i bought the lil iRiver is for.... PODCASTING! Not just regular podcasting... Mobile podcasting!
It works like a charm, but i'm going to have to get use to it. I'm planning on getting me a nice host either on or by Christmas, so i can make my podcasting dreams come true. I'm either going to save up some money, or just ask for a year of hosting as a nice x-mas present. But until then, i'll try to p-cast every once and awhile. The hardest thing now is uploading; i have a dialup connection and it takes forever, plus i get disconnected real easy. I really need a host that has FTP access [all the pay ones do, if not they shouldn't be in business] so i can resume when i get kicked offline. I might be able to upload them from the GLBT center, but i would have to find out how i'm going to do that. I really don't want to install any new software, so i might have to get creative. I have a 16mb thumb drive i can use to transport the mp3 file to the GLBT center, and since they have XP it should detect it without any software needed. But i'm going to go and read the manual and see all the other goodies they packed in there, i know i should have a strap somewhere, i have the arm band out already.

I'm already doing 'tests'... i've noticed that when i'm in the car i need to turn down my AC... And i noticed that people look at me like i'm mentally handicapped when they either notice that mic coming out of my shirt or when it looks like i'm talking to myself... either way i've been getting these funny ass looks, and it makes me laugh, so i'm going to have to get use to that because my tests have had me laughing my ass off.
You know, you can setup SBC just using the standard Windows DUN and can chunk that software far, far, far out the window. Might even help with your reliability. I was on SBC until I switched to wireless.
I have it setup that way now.
I connect a lil faster it seems... i went from connecting at 24kbs to 26.4kbs... It's almost too fast :-p
Oh.. you'll die when you hit 28.8k. I about had a heart attack the first time it happened. BTW, the connection limit is six hours. After that, they kick you and you have to reconnect.
28.8!?!?! is that even possible!?! :-)
I was wondering about time limits... ummm 6 hours... that isn't good. I'll have to set up Getright to reconnect if i get disconnected while DLing something...
Ummm... if i'm using limewire or something else other then GetRight to DL i could use GetRight to dl a huge file i don't need and just engage the speed limit thing to dl at a ridiculously slow rate... or can i do that with something else?
